What is The Arc?

The Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for--and serving people with--intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We encompass all ages and all spectrums from autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities.  The Arc supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.  The Arc is people—people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, parents, and other family members, professionals, and friends of people with disabilities.  The Arc is a grassroots organization with 140,000 members who are affiliated through approximately 700 state and local chapters across the nation.  

Day Services

Community Guide & Engagement: Services can be short or long term and are designed to increase an individual’s connection to and engagement in formal and informal community networks and supports that result in positive relationships, valued community roles, and involvement in preferred community activities, organizations, groups, or projects. Community Inclusion Services: This program is a long term service that assists individuals to participate in activities that promote individualized skill development, independent living and community integration.  Activities will provide individuals with opportunities to develop personal relationships with others in their local communities and to learn; practice and apply life skills that promote greater independence and community inclusion.  Community Inclusion services are available to individuals 62 years and older or individuals 21-61 who previously tried employment services for at least nine months and were not successful or were not satisfied with their service. Family & Community Services

Family and Community Support: Services provide one on one support to families and individuals who need support to obtain services, IEP and 504 support and advocacy, one to one support and training with things like accessing DDA services, social security benefits,  transition, guardianship and other related community and state services. Call (360)425-5494 for more information.

Parent 2 Parent  is a powerful network that fulfills a crucial role in the adjustment of a family to their child with a disability. We provide support, connection to other parents and resources for families of children with developmental disabilities and healthcare needs. Call (360)425-5494 for more information.
