The Health Care Foundation granted Life Works $6147 to purchased iPads and applications to help people with disabilities communicate regarding their healthcare issues.
The iPads let a person touch a picture or type a word and the device will speak the word out loud. The application Proloquo2go makes it possible for an individual to create sentences and have conversations. The intuitive software can be adapted to fit the specific needs of each person.
People that have never been able to communicate verbally are now using the iPads with great success.
Thank you Health Care Foundation!
